Increase Your Productivity with New IxChariot Automation Options
Ever wished you could set up a single, repeatable test that configures your network elements, runs IxChariot traffic, emails you the test report and then cleans up after itself? Well, your prayers have now been answered: Ixia is now offering combined IxChariot and Test Conductor bundles to help you automate your environment and reduce the time and cost of testing. Test Conductor is the industry's leading multi-vendor automation framework, offering simple configuration and reporting for even the most complex tests. Wrap a Test Conductor script around your IxChariot traffic test to take care of all the necessary network setup and ensure maximum repeatability. Test Conductor also offers step-by-step debugging support and cool features like binary search to help you find performance limits without manually running endless iterations of the same test. Ever wondered how many simultaneous VoIP calls your network can handle before MOS scores start to suffer? With IxChariot plus Test Conductor, you set pass/fail criteria as needed, schedule the automated tests, and then sit back and wait for the reports to arrive!
2 options are available:920-0301 - An IxChariot 10-pair license combined with a Test Composer license for test authoring and debugging. Includes 3 sample scripts. Does not include test scheduling or reporting options.
931-3008 - A Test Conductor package for existing IxChariot customers. Includes Test Composer for test authoring and debugging plus Test Conductor server for test scheduling and reporting.

Sample Script Details:1.VoIP Capacity Analysis test
Using a binary search, this test finds the maximum number of bi-directional VoIP calls that can be run between 2 points on the network without dropping the MOS score of any call below a specified value.2.Quick Assess Test
This test performs a quick assessment of the network quality between 2 specified endpoints. The end result is a CSV file showing:
- the hop table, as a result of running traceroute
- min, average and max roundtrip latency (in seconds)
- min, average and max UDP throughput (in Mbps)
- BDP (bandwidth-delay product - in bytes)
- average TCP throughput (in Mbps)
- MOS, one-way delay (in milliseconds), jitter (in milliseconds) and packet loss (in %) for a bi-directional G.711 VoIP call
3.CNA Test
This test measures the minimum, average and maximum TCP throughput between Endpoint 1 and Endpoint 2 and the CPU utilization on both machines for various send buffer sizes (from 64 bytes to 1MB in multiples of 2) and returns the results to a CSV file.Next, it measures the minimum, average and maximum UDP throughput between Endpoint 1 and Endpoint 2 and the CPU utilization on both machines for various datagram sizes (64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 1280, 1518, 4000, 9000 bytes) and returns the results to a CSV file.
